A FORMER Hampshire MoD base could become a step closer to being transformed into a business park.
Councillors from Fareham Borough Council are set to give their approval to emerging plans to convert the 204-acre site at Lee-on-the-Solent, above.
The land is earmarked by Seeda – the South East England Development Agency – for an “exciting mixed-use development”.
The agency wants to attract companies from the marine and aviation sectors to the park, but also include affordable housing for key workers.
Members of the public have already had their chance to have their say on the initial proposals at various open days last year.
A report of the agency’s proposals will be up for discussion at the council’s meeting of the Executive today where councillors are being recommended to support the plans.
The next stage will see Seeda apply for planning permission for the development later this year.
