A NINE-year-old boy tried desperately to save his mother as his jealous father strangled her with a computer cable.
Gavin Amy flew into a rage and throttled his 26-year-old wife Emma in their Southampton home after he discovered she was seeing a man she met on the Internet.
The couple’s eldest child tried to stop the attack but was ordered to return to his room by his crazed dad.
Today the 30-year-old father of three was starting a life sentence after pleading guilty to murder.
The couple’s seven-year-old daughter also witnessed part of the attack on January 17 last year. Their four-yearold child was also in the house in Wimpson Lane, Millbrook.
Winchester Crown Court heard how the children were vomiting and hysterical when police and neighbours arrived and found their mother lying dead in her bedroom.
Judge Mr Justice Royce said the children’s experience must have been “horrific”.
