HUNDREDS of Hampshire staff of department store John Lewis and supermarket chain Waitrose will see their annual bonus slashed after profits at the worker owned company dived by more than a quarter.
The John Lewis Partnership today revealed annual profits tumbled by more than £100m to £279m as the consumer spending slump punished sales.
Bonus payouts for 69,000 staff at the partnership, including John Lewis branches in WestQuay Shopping Centre and Southsea and Waitrose branches across the county, will come from a £125.5m bonus pot, down almost a third on the previous year.
Staff, known as partners, will still get the equivalent of nearly seven weeks pay.
