Bill Reeve the butcher believes a meaty campaign is the way to save the day for the independent traders in Hampshire.
Manager of John Wildman and Sons butcher’s in Shirley High Street, the 53-year-old said: “A campaign like this will help small traders to fight for their businesses.
“If you don’t support the local traders like this, all the small independent shops are going to close and these high streets will die on their feet.”
Bill, pictured on the right with fellow butcher Fred Web, said: “You get a better price deal here, a better personal service and are looked after better and I think we’re competitive with our prices.
“The high street is a meeting place for the community. If we get rid of them then I think we will lose a sense of pride and togetherness.”
