Hundreds of protestors marched through the streets of a Hampshire city today campaigning to protect their local countryside.
Around 600 protesters paraded through the streets of Winchester with the aim of saving Barton Farm.
Council chiefs are earmarking the greenfield site near the city for long-term development.
It could provide around 2,000 homes.
Protesters, led by the Save Barton Farm Group, vented their opposition by rallying at the city's Westgate.
They then marched to the city's Guildhall, and the line of objectors stretched to more than a quarter of a mile at one point.
On the Guildhall steps, Gavin Blackman, who chairs the protest group, called on the city council to think again.
"Let us show the council what we think. Let's save Barton Farm and let's save Winchester," he said.
