EASB referee Steve Hildyard
FAIR Oak referee Steve Hildyard led the region’s tributes to Dave Joyce, the English Association of Snooker & Billiards’ director of referees, who died last Satuday.
Hildyard said: “He was a great friend and colleague in the snooker world and will be sadly missed.
“He was always a friendly chap but wouldn't take any rubbish from the lads. I’m not sure how the EASB is going to be able to cope with such a loss.”
Locally, Joyce was best know as tournament director for the EASB Premier Junior Tour.
He died on his allotment near his home in Milton Keynes.
