A FAREHAM man is being held by police after a man collapsed in the street with severe facial and head injuries.
Police were alerted at about 8.30pm last night after the 43-year-old collapsed.
He was taken to hospital were he is being treated for “severe facial injuries” and a “significant” head injury. He remains in a stable condition.
Detectives believe he was the victim of an assault and say he was walking with another man when he collapsed.
They are appealing for information to find out exactly what happened in Clive Road, Portsmouth.
A 38-year-old man from Fareham has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, He is in custody helping police with their enquiries.
