PASSENGERS were forced to dive for cover when the bus they were travelling in was targeted in an apparent drive-by shooting.
Police are investigating reports that the occupants of a passing car opened fire on the bus as it pulled into a stop in Marchwood.
The single shot, thought to be from an airgun, caused a window of the number eight Blue Star service to shatter.
One passenger was reportedly hit by the pellet but was uninjured.
Witness Sharon French, 39, said: “It was quite dramatic, there was glass all over the place. The bus seemed to have been shot as it it came around the corner towards the bus stop.
All the passengers got out and I spoke to one guy who was sitting right where the pellet had hit.
“He looked pretty shaken. I couldn’t see any police around.
