A MOTORBIKE show on the edge of the New Forest has been scrapped because organisers say that interest in their new format stalled.
The Great Netley Sort-Out was gearing up to be a bike-lover’s dream, with dozens of displays and spare-part stalls.
But Classic Bikes Shows, the company in charge of the annual Netley Marsh bonanza, has pulled the plug on the May event.
Exhibition manager Nick Mowbray said attempts to invite owners of vintage cars and specialist collectors broke down because of lack of interest.
He added: “We had low uptake in different types of stands. In a perfect world, we would have liked 100 of each category. This was a big concern because if you were a car enthusiast and there was only one stand, you would want your money back.”
The event, formerly known as Spring Autojumble, had been earmarked for the weekend of May 16. Despite the cancellation, Classic Bikes Shows has vowed to stage its 16th annual Eurojumble event in September at the same venue.
Pre-paying visitors for the Sort-Out and traders with pre-booked plots are being contacted by organisers.
