Occupation:
I am currently unemployed as I was made redundant from my job as a Care Coordinator in November. I started my working life in 1999 as a buyer for an electronic components company called Electrospeed, looking after approximately 14000 lines of stock, from over 100 suppliers world wide. I went from there to First Hampshire, a local bus company, looking after their student travel system and assisting the IT manager with support for the site, I took that job one step further setting up as self employed in 2002 offering general IT, and relevant system support and training to public transport companies in the Hampshire area. When that contract ended I went on to work for Siemens Traincare Facility, doing data management and manipulation. I then found work with Enterprise Rent-A-Car Ltd, working my way up to a Vehicle Acquisitions Coordinator in their regional head office, assisting the department manager with buying cars and a large amount of data analysis, as well as helping implement a key new system for the department. I went on from there to work for CareAid (Homecare) Ltd as a Care Coordinator, where I was sadly made redundant in November.
Preferred employment:
I’m very open minded about my future employment. I have a lot of buying experience and have both enjoyed it and learned a lot from it, as I have with IT support and training. I would like to be able to use that experience, and also to continue honing my analytical skills. Ultimately, I’m looking for a challenge, something I can get my teeth stuck into and make a difference with.
Hobbies, interests and other details:
I’m a creative person – I have an interest in photography, as well as writing short stories, I won a competition and was published in a local magazine last year. As well as an interest in IT and website design, I also like to be outdoors and active. I work well in a stressful environment, on my own or as part of a team. I’m an enthusiastic, social person, with an excellent sense of humour.
