A TRIO of Southampton pals are hoping to complete a 70-mile cycle around the Isle of Wight for charity today.
Southampton Solent University Students Richard Sudworth, Alasdair Boden and Philip Hallwood are hoping to raise more than £1,000 by cycling round the island.
Raising money for the British Heart Foundation, the friends hope to complete the ride in eight hours.
Richard said the charity effectively saved his mother’s life eight years ago.
Judith Sudworth collapsed after she developed problems with her heart in 2001 but has since made a full recovery.
The 22-year-old said: “My mum’s condition was congenital, so there is a slight chance that I could have the same thing. If anything, riding round the island will only strengthen my heart, whilst raising both funds and awareness for the cause.”
To sponsor the lads visit 9.
