THREE people have been arrested on suspicion of arson following the massive blaze that ripped through a Hampshire car scrapyard.
More than 40 cars were seriously damaged in the compound at the Car Components Yard in Jubilee Road, Gosport.
The fire is believed to have been started at around midday yesterday and black smoke from the huge inferno could be seen for miles around.
Detective Inspector Justin Norris said: "I am appealing to anyone who may have information about the incident to contact the police, alternatively please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
Three people have been arrested on suspicion of arson and are currently in custody helping police with their inquiries.
