THE Butterfly Convention is holding the first of its seasonal walks on the April 1 at Magdalen Hill Down Nature Reserve in Winchester.
On show will be many butterfly species just set loose from hibernation.
These include comma, red admiral, pictured left, peacock and brimstone.
As well as this, there may be a sight of the cowslip flowers just coming into bloom.
Each walk lasts two hours and there will be friendly company on offer.
Lynn Fomison, reserves officer at the nature reserve, said: “This will be a good opportunity for people to enjoy local wildlife, particularly wild flowers and butterflies, through the changing seasons.”
More walks are being planned across the summer, autumn and winter.
If you would like any more information on the walks contact Lynn Fomison on 01962 772251.
