A CASH gift of £52,000 for Hampshire charities is about to evaporate unless Hampshire residents dig deep.
The money was put aside for good causes across the county but unless more donations roll in it will soon be back in the treasury’s coffers.
Under a Westminster scheme, the Government pledged to match every pound raised by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF) up to £295,000.
However, the HIWCF has only managed to get £243,000 as the credit crunch has been putting the squeeze on people’s good intentions.
