THE grieving family of a charity worker who was killed when her car smashed into a tree near Winchester have told of their devastation.
Lucie Attwood fundraised tirelessly for organisations including The Joe Glover Trust – a Colden Common based charity which helps young people battling cancer, where she had been made a trustee last year.
Lucie, 32, of Springvale Road, King’s Worthy, who was married with two children, had also single-handedly organised a charity ball at Winchester Guildhall, which raised £21,000 for Naomi House back in 2005. She died following the crash in Old Stoke Road, Stoke Charity, on Monday March 16.
Paying tribute, her family said: “Lucie was well-known in the Winchester and Alresford area from her work as a successful freelance mobile hairdresser.
“The news of Lucie’s death is, understandably, devastating to her family, including her mother, father and two sisters. She will be sadly missed by her friends and clients.”
Lucie’s funeral will be held at St John the Baptist, Alresford, at 2pm on Thursday, March 26, followed by a private burial.
