THREE of Southampton’s most popular tourist attractions are to be closed every Sunday for the foreseeable future because of a row over council staff wages.

Southampton City Council workers at the City Art Gallery, Maritime Museum and the Museum of Archaeology also plan to hold a one-day strike on Saturday, April 4.

The industrial action throws into chaos the city’s plans to commemorate the 97th anniversary of the sinking of Titanic, with the British Titanic Society due to hold its annual convention in Southampton for the first time in three years.
