POLICE have uncovered a cannabis factory in a Hampshire town.
More than 40 cannabis plants at an advanced stage of growth were discovered when officers raided a house at Buckland Gardens, Totton.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of using electricity without authorisation, cultivating a Class B drug and possession of intent to supply.
He has been released on bail pending further inquiries until June 10.
Inspector Ian Smith, who led the raid, said: "Totton and surrounding neighbourhoods do not have a noticeable drugs problem and it is important we keep it that way.
"However, where evidence of illegal drugs activity exists, those involved can expect to be dealt with robustly.
"Members of the public can support the police by providing information about any suspicions they have about drug activity in their area."
The raid was carried out on Tuesday but details were not released until today.
