A PLANE which was at the centre of a drama after a pilot reported technical problems has landed safely at Southampton Airport.
The Flybe flight BE1614 was travelling from Chambery in France when it experienced technical problems early this afternoon. It is believed that there were about 50 people on board.
Full scale emergency procedures swung into action and Hampshire firefighters stood by.
An airport spokesperson said: "The emergency services attended the airport as a matter of precaution, but were not required. The aircraft landed safely and all passengers and crew are fine."
