A SALES assistant drove off after crashing into the back of a car while drink-driving, a court was told.
Daniel Emery, 27, drove into the back of another car at traffic lights at Athelstan Road, Southampton, before driving off without stopping, city magistrates were told.
However, the other driver memorised his number plate and reported him to police following the January 24 crash.
Officers arrested Emery, of Chessel Avenue, Southampton, a short time later when a breath test revealed he was more than twice the legal drinkdrive limit.
Emery admitted drink-driving and failing to stop after an accident.
He was banned from driving for 20 months and ordered to pay a £250 fine and £70 costs.
