SOUTHAMPTON star Craig David needs your vote!
The R’n’B musician’s first album Born To Do It, inspired by his childhood in the city, has been shortlisted as one of MTV’s Greatest Albums Ever.
Despite their recent Grammy success, none of the four platinum selling albums from Coldplay, featuring Winchester drummer Will Champion, have made it onto the list.
So Craig will go up against multi-million seller Thriller by Michael Jackson, Radiohead’s seminal album OK Computer and lyrical masterpiece The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths.
Oasis have two nods on the list with What’s The Story (Morning Glory) and Definitely Maybe alongside Nirvana’s legendary rock album Nevermind.
Craig, who grew up in the Holyrood area of Southampton, told Scene South: “I was a product of my environment when I wrote that album, and I was talking about things relevant to me as a kid.
“Lyrically I felt people got what I was trying to say and embraced the album as being relevant.”
The shortlisted albums have been put forward for a public vote to find the definitive MTV’s Greatest Album Ever and the results will be revealed on April 11.
