HUNDREDS of music fans put down roots outside Winchester’s HMV story in a bid to get a ticket to the Reading Festival.
The store in High Street was one of only a handful in Britain to have £155 weekend passes on sale. They went on sale at 7pm last night, but scores of fans were in line long before then. The store had 200 passes, but the queue was above that figure by 3pm.
At the front were Nick Richardson, Gilad Nitzan- Green and Cam Croft, all 16, along with Callum Mulcahy and Jack Avery, both 17.
Nick said: “We’ve been here since 8am. It’ll be worth it, as the festival should be really good. Kings of Leon and Arctic Monkeys are supposed to be playing.”
The friends, all at Peter Symonds College, spent 11 hours queueing.
