MORE than 100 firefighters tackled a huge blaze that engulfed three thatched cottages in Hampshire last night.
The fire broke out at cottages in Hunton Down Lane at Hunton near Sutton Scotney just before 6.30pm and took firefighters hours to control.
Crews from Sutton Scotney, Winchester, Stockbridge, Whitchurch, Eastleigh, Andover, Borden, Fareham, Alresford and Basingstoke were called in to tackle the flames.
Firefighters were still damping down the severely damaged houses at 6.45am this morning.
