IT IS the must-have beauty treatment that is taking Hampshire by storm.
Women across the south are being left with egg on their face in the rush to try the latest therapy that has been described as a clinical breakthrough in the multi-million- pound anti-ageing industry.
The latest trend being offered at beauty salons in Southampton is the humble Cadbury’s Creme Egg.
Beauty experts have found that the sugar-rich fondant in the eggs has a surprisingly positive effect on the skin.
Beauty specialists Yakushi have a team of specially-trained therapists who have been schooled in applying the “goo” for maximum effect.
Customers have been inundating the Above Bar salon with requests for the treatment.
Researchers at the London Academy of Beauticians (LAB) tested a wide range of different foods and found that the fondant creme inside the Easter treat came out top.
Dr Ralf Loopi at LAB told the Daily Echo: “In our quest to find the perfect anti-ageing ingredient, we try out a huge range of substances.
We were extremely surprised by these findings, as we never expected Cadbury Creme Egg ‘goo’ to have such a beneficial effect on the skin.”
Jodie Bates, brand manager at Cadbury said: “We’re hoping that, since the ingredient is not expensive, the ‘goo facial’ will present a credit crunch alternative to the usual treatments.”
