IT was like a scene from a classic Wild West movie.
But this wasn’t a Hollywood blockbuster.
It was Southampton city centre yesterday lunchtime when as more than 60 people started drawing imaginary handguns on each other.
The wacky event is believed to be the city’s second “flashmob”, in which a large group of people gather to perform an unusual action before dispersing as quickly as they arrived.
Shoppers stared in disbelief as a handful of people started drawing their loaded ‘fingers’ on each other at exactly 1pm outside the WestQuay Shopping Centre.
Within 30 seconds the group had multiplied as more and more people joined the tense stand-off which brought the surrounding crowd to a halt.
Then after one minute everybody started firing and shouting “bang” at each other before dropping to the floor as if they had been shot.
They all then got up and quietly dispersed, leaving shoppers baffled about what had just happened.
