A PENSIONER is today recovering at Southampton General Hospital after paragliding into a cliff.
The man, in his 60s, was airlifted to hospital after the accident at Brook Chine, near to Atherfield Point, on the Isle of Wight.
He suffered a suspected a broken arm, leg and possible pelvic injuries in the accident that happened on Saturday at 3.15pm.
It is believed a member of the public raised the alarm after reporting that a man had crashed into the cliff and appeared to be in difficulty.
Solent Coastguard sent two rescue boats out to the scene as well as a helicopter that airlifted the man to hospital.
