A TEAM of graduate trainees at a top engineering firm have been driving an old banger hundreds of miles for a good cause.
The workers for the VT Group in Hedge End organised their own scrapyard rally to raise cash for Action for ME, one of the company’s adopted charities.
The endurance race will take the team from Southampton to Monaco.
To make the challenge more difficult, the participants were not allowed to spend more than £250 on their car, have an engine no bigger than 1.4 litres, and be in fancy dress.
Their car will chug through Bruges, Brussels, Cologne, Milan and Geneva, before reaching Monaco today.
Pictured with their car are, from left, Will Mitchell Kieran Fowler Ricki Parsons and Ruman Tarafdar.
