POLICE have launched an investigation into two fires in as many days at a Southampton youth centre.
Staff at the Ashby Youth Centre at Stratton Road in Shirley noticed smoke pouring into the building just after 9pm last night.
After raising the alarm they tackled the small fire themselves which had been started after wooden panels outside the building were set alight.
No significant damage was done to the building itself.
However, it was the second time firefighters were called out to the centre this week.
On Monday night crews from Redbridge fire station were called to deal with a motorbike that is thought to have been deliberately set alight outside the centre.
Police are now investigating both blazes.
