POLICE used a taser to disarm a man who was wielding a hammer in a drama near Fareham last night.
Officers were called to Hospital Lane in Portchester at about 6.30pm and were confronted by man who was acting in an aggressive manner.
The man, who was standing in the road, threatened them with a hammer and a taser was used to disarm him.
A police spokesperson said: "The 37 year man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing an offensive weapon. He is in custody helping police with their inquires."
