A WINCHESTER midwife is being hailed a hero by Tommy’s, the healthy pregnancy charity.
It gave Miriam Edmond, 48, a community midwife with Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare NHS Trust, its annual “Hero” award.
She was nominated by Denise Percy, 38, from Kings Worthy, who lost her first baby when 36 weeks pregnant.
Miriam helped her through the aftermath and later cared for Denise through two successful pregnancies.
Denise and her partner Mark Chambers, 35, who both work at the Air Traffic Control Centre in Swanwick, now have two children, Lucas and Lexie, both delivered by Miriam.
