BE BRIGHT, be bold and most importantly be silly.
That’s the message from Hampshire Autistic Society which is urging people across the county to pull up their socks and “sock it” to the condition that affects thousands of people.
The Whiteley charity is hosting a Silly Sock Day on June 19 to get schools, businesses and families to swap their everyday socks for bright, stripy, wacky ones and make a donation.
To help boost the silliness the charity will be holding an awareness event on the day from 9.30am to 2pm at Sainsbury’s in Hedge End, with live entertainment including a performance from Silly Scott and local schools.
To get involved with Silly Sock Day contact the fundraising department on 01489 880881 or e-mail fundraising@has.org.uk for a fundraising pack.
