Over £130,000 worth of tools and machinery have been stolen from a Hampshire business.

Police are investigating a burglary at Exsel Plant and Tool Hire in Botley Road, Curdridge.

Sometime between 6pm on Thursday, April 30 and 8am on Friday, May 1, someone has broken into the premises by forcing a side door and have taken tools, machinery and vehicles, valued at approximately £130,000.

The suspects stole two Ifor Williams trailers to remove the tools and machinery. These were later recovered from Tynefield caravan site in Whiteley.

Also used in the burglary was a green Land Rover Defender, which had been stolen from Botley on the Thursday evening.

PC Paul Symonds said: “This is a high value burglary that would have taken a great deal of time and effort to commit.

“This crime has had a huge effect on the owner of Exsel Tool and Plant Hire and as such we are appealing for any information which may lead to the arrest of those responsible or the recovery of the stolen property.

“Anyone who witnessed the burglary take place, has any information about those responsible or the location of any of the stolen property should contact police as soon as possible.
