A post mortem into the death of a Hampshire man who died ten minutes after a doctor told him he had indigestion and sent him home has proved inconclusive.

Nathan Wheeler died in his mum's arms in the back of his uncle's car on Saturday night after leaving an out of hours clinic at the Gosport War memorial Hospital.

The death of the 29-year-old from Fareham, who was suffering from agonising chest pains, led to health bosses launch an investigation into the treatment he received.

A post mortem examination has been carried out but failed to establish a cause of death. An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned to a later date.

His mum Patricia Spencer, of Cort Way, Fareham, is demanding to know how her son was allowed to die just minutes after seeing a doctor but early investigations by the Portsmouth City Teaching Primary Care Trust have indicated no mistakes were made.

Patricia, 55, said: "I know nothing will bring my son back but I don't want other families going through what we have."
