HUNDREDS of people will converge on The Square at Wickham on Wednesday for the traditional horse fair which can trace its history back to the 13th century.
The action-packed event attracts visitors from all corners of the country to talk about all things equine, trade secrets and make a sale or two.
The village streets will be lined with scores of spectators watching the age-old tradition of riding ponies along the winding lanes.
Police and councils have issued advice to motorists and visitors during the fair.
The Square will be closed to traffic from Tuesday to Thursday and the A334 Winchester/Fareham Road from the A32 to the B2177 will be closed from 5am until 8pm on Wednesday.
Diversion signs will be in place to maintain traffic flow around the fair and minimise inconvenience to motorists.
Motorists who are not going to the fair are advised to avoid the Wickham area on the day and to allow extra time for their journeys.
