A HAMPSHIRE gardener is going for gold at the Chelsea Flower Show today with a cutting edge design made from artificial grass.
Award-winning Rob Redcliffe will go head to head with some of the country’s best gardeners with his design inspired by classic French gardens.
The design is made from 70 per cent artificial grass in a bid to promote its versatility.
The 30-year-old from Bashley said: “Over the last ten years we have seen a significant change in the technology of artificial grass and it has become a ‘cutting edge’ product, far more socially acceptable and a bit of a ‘must have’ for many people.
“Often it is not until people investigate the product fully, and actually touch it, that they realise it is a viable option.”
Rob was awarded a Certificate of Merit at Hampton Court Flower Show last summer followed by a gold award at the New Forest Show.
