THE administrator in charge of selling Southampton FC has said a deal is 'unlikely'.
Mark Fry, from administrator Begbies Traynor said: "It's very unlikely a transaction will be completed."
The consortium backed Saints legend Matt Le Tissier, has had its deadline extended until later today.
However, Fry said: "They haven't delivered what they said."
Despite this, managing director of Pinnacle, who are part of the bid, insists they are still working on a deal.
"I'm still working on it and if I wasn't confident, I think I would have packed my bags by now.
"I'm pretty sure there will be a bid fairly shortly."
As revealed in today's Daily Echo, other groups are believed to be waiting in the wings to launch any possible bids.
