ESTHER Rantzen has confirmed she is contemplating standing for election.
The Hampshire TV presenter says she she is considering running to become member of parliament for Luton South.
The current incumbent of the role, Margaret Moran, claimed £22,500 for treating dry rot at her second home in Southampton.
Ms Rantzen said: "I care about politics, I care about our democaracy. I believe in the House of Commons and I think what has been going on has been appalling and a disgrace.
"I don't belong to any particular political party. I've always been a floating voter, so I thought maybe if I stood as an independent, we could see if other votes thought this would be a good idea.
"If not, no hard feelings.
"But if Luton South want me I promise you, any dry rot that needs to be repaired will be repaired at my expense."
