STRIKE the pose!
The best of student design was showcased by budding Vivienne Westwoods and Alexander McQueens last night at Southampton Solent University’s Graduate Fashion Show.
Weird and wonderful creations were paraded on the catwalk at Southampton Guildhall, allowing the designers of the future to display their work in front of industry professionals.
Themes varied from a celebration of Barbie’s 50th birthday to superheroes, but with the recession in mind the show also took on a credit crunch-inspired style-on-a-shoestring philosophy, with students encouraged to make do and mend, or recycle where possible.
Earlier in the day, first and second year students showed off their Anglo-Mania and Tailoring With a Twist project work to teenagers from local colleges.
