A DECISION over controversial plans to extend a Hampshire dental surgery have been postponed for a second time.
Doctor Manori Ambrose wants permission by Fareham Borough Council’s planning committee to add a third dentist chair to Manor Dental Surgery in Hunts Pond Road, Stubbington.
If given the thumbs up from councillors it would mean that up to 2,000 new NHS dental patient spaces would be created for the area.
The committee was due to make a decision on Wednesday, but following fierce opposition from residents, councillors said they want to visit the site.
The visit will give them the chance to see if a third chair would cause extra parking problems or if surgery staff would be forced upstairs.
When the surgery first opened in April 2007 more than 100 people desperate for an NHS dentist queued in the streets for hours in the hope of being registered.
