FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze which swept through a first floor bedroom of a home in Eastleigh early today.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Steele Close, which is close to the fire station, at three minutes past midnight. The alert had been raised after a smoke alarm was activated. No one was trapped and no one was hurt.
About a dozen firefighters - wearing breathing sets - tackled the blaze and we are on the scene until about 2 am.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said the cause of the fire was being investigated.
The fire was confined to a bedroom and firefighters prevented it from spreading. There was smoke damage to the rest of the house.
Sheeting was put across the window of the fire ravaged bedroom.
