IT’S something you do numerous times a day without a thought but changing the way you flush your toilet could make your home greener – and save you cash.
The Interflush, which has been launched by Jack Barnett of Eling, allows you to stop the flush if you don’t need a lot of water rather than emptying the entire cistern every time you use it.
Jack, 22, pictured, set up Jack B Green after being made redundant in April.
“I’ve always been interested in environmental issues but the amount of water we waste hadn’t really crossed my mind.” he said.
“In this country about 3 per cent of the energy we use goes on purifying water so it’s really wasteful to be flushing away more than you need to.
“The Interflush can save half the water you flush – that’s 30 litres a day. If you’re on a water meter it will pay for itself in a few weeks – over ten years the average family can save £1,000.”
It costs £35 to have an Interflush supplied and fitted. For more information, call 023 8066 8673/07830996641 or email jack.barnett@sky.com.
