Southampton’s new £19m Ocean Terminal is due to be officially opened in the city’s Eastern Docks today.
P&O Cruises’ supership Ventura, scheduled to be alongside the terminal, will be the dramatic backdrop for the ceremony.
The new terminal will be used by Southampton-based ships operated by Cunard, Princess Cruises and P&O Cruises, which are all part of parent company Carnival UK.
After welcoming guests, including 120 winners of a Daily Echo competition, Doug Morrison, Southampton’s port director, will invite David Dingle, chief executive of Carnival UK, to perform the opening ceremony.
