The RNLI’s Cowes Lifeboat was called out by Solent Coastguards this morning to go to the aid of a yachtsman suffering from internal bleeding.
His boat, the Atlantic Clipper, was moored up the River Medina, at Folly Reach. The lifeboat, with Simon Hawkins as helmsman, took the man to a waiting ambulance at Trinity Landing, from where he was taken to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.
