FORMER Spice Girl Emma Bunton will be taking to the south cost airwaves this month when Ocean FM rebrands as female friendly Heart FM.
The pop princess is the latest addition to a new-look presenter line-up as part of a shake-up of Hampshire radio stations following Global Radio’s takeover of GCap Media.
Emma will present a Saturday afternoon show from June 27. She joins Toby Antis and Jason Donovan as part of national programming from London.
Existing local programmes, including the breakfast show hosted by Jules and Bunker, will be maintained and hosted by local presenters.
Heart programme director Jason Walkerden said: “Emma reflects what Heart is all about – she’s great fun, she’s down to earth and she’s a hard-working mum who lives life to the full.”
Emma said: “When I was asked to present my own show, it was so exciting and felt completely natural – I can’t wait to be part of the Heart team.”
Ocean Fm will become Heart Fm on June 22. It will become the 32nd station to join the UK’s biggest commercial radio brand. Sister station Power FM changed its name to Galaxy South Coast in November.
