NAME that chick!
That’s the challenge to Daily Echo readers from a top wildlife charity after two rare goshawk chicks were born at a secret New Forest nest.
Visitors to our website dailyecho.co.uk have already watched the trials and tribulations of the young goshawk family, including the birth of the chicks and the death of a third, thanks to live streaming from a state-of-the-art camera lodged in their nest.
Now the RSPB wants to find fitting names for the two remaining chicks.
Hester Phillips, of RSPB South East, said: “We’ve been calling the parents Mr and Mrs G for sometime now, but the chicks are really starting to develop from small fluffy balls into animated chicks bouncing round the nest and it’s high time they had names.
“With all the interest out there, we’re hoping people will come up with some inventive names.”
