WITH just over four weeks to the 2009 Festival of Speed, Goodwood has confirmed more than 75 of the greatest racing drivers and riders will be at the world’s largest celebration of motoring culture.

And more big names are expected to join the list for the event on July 3-5.

For the first time in its 17- year history, the festival will feature both the reigning F1 and World Rally Championship champions. F1 ace and Goodwood regular Lewis Hamilton will entertain festival crowds, as will five-times WRC champion and festival rookie Sebastian Loeb.

Current F1 championship leader Jenson Button, far right, is also confirmed for Goodwood, as are fellow F1 drivers Mark Webber and Timo Glock with six current F1 teams scheduled to attend – McLaren, Ferrari, Williams, Toyota and Red Bull, plus the new Brawn GP team.

Joining Loeb in action on the Goodwood Forest Rally Stage will be a who’s who of rally legends including Walter Rohl, Bjorn Walde-gaard, Stig Blomqvist, Hannu Mikkola, and Rauno Aaltonen.

Two-wheeled heroes in action up the Goodwood Hill are set to include former World Champions Mick Doo-han and Max Biaggi, as well as current World Super-bike and World Supersport title contenders Troy Corser, Yukio Kagayama, Leon Haslam, Jonathon Rea, Cal Crutchlow, Troy Bayliss and Broc Parkes.

Legends from motor racing’s past will include Sir Stirling Moss, John Surtees, Jackie Stewart, Eddie Irvine, David Coulthard, Dan Gurney, Derek Bell, Damon Hill and Jacky Ickx.
