They are roadworks that are proving a traffic nightmare for thousands of drivers coming into Southampton every day.
But now the works on the Redbridge Flyover are giving motorists more than just a congestion headache.
Now drivers are being urged to check their vehicles after wet cement was accidentally sprayed onto the highway through the roadworks.
Bridge repairs under the flyover sent a surge of grey liquid on to the dual carriageway which goes over junction one of the M271 motorway.
A number of drivers have already reported damage to their cars after driving through what they thought was dirty water, and are now calling for answers from the city council.
