WORKERS from B&Q’s head office in Chandler’s Ford put their DIY skills to the test when they were asked to make bricks the Victorian way.
Fifty members of the company’s showroom took part in a team volunteer day at the Bursledon Brickworks Conservation Centre, in Swanwick.
The B&Q taskforce got stuck in with some DIY to help maintain historic artefacts and improve visitors’ facilities.
They were given a tour of the brickworks and even had a chance to make some Victorian-style bricks.
Founded in 1897, in its heyday the brickworks made 20 million bricks a year.
