Get active! That’s the message from organisers of the first event of its kind to get people in Southampton moving.
A 30-Minute Sportathon is being organised giving all ages the chance to try out more than 30 different activities for FREE!
Sports lined up include football, cricket, netball and hockey to ultimate frisbee, kayaking, volleyball and archery.
Southampton City Council has organised the event at different locations across the city from 10am until 4pm on October 4.
There will also be opportunities to join some of the city’s many sports clubs or activity groups.
Jayne Ludden, Southampton City Council’s sport and recreation manager, said: “The key message is ‘you don’t have to be an athlete to have fun and stay active’.
The 30-Minute Sportathon will take place at The Outdoor Sports Centre, The Common, Redbridge Community School, Oasis Academy Mayfield, Woodmill Outdoor Activities Centre, Veracity Sport Ground and Merry Oak Community Centre.
