TICKET sales for Alresford's fireworks night are off to a fast start, with several hundred tickets for adults and children already sold.

Members of the local Rotary Club go door to door in October selling tickets for the November 5 fireworks party.

The evening itself begins with a torchlight parade from Broad Street at 6.45pm, before moving on to a bonfire and fireworks display at Arlebury Park.

Alresford Rotary President Steve Gapper said: “We’ve had a really warm reception from the people of Alresford. There’s a big demand for tickets.

“People really appreciate that any money that we make goes to charity. At a time when some fireworks nights are under threat, it's great that the Alresford fireworks night seems to be going from strength to strength.”

The Rotary Club of Alresford is aiming to raise more than £7,000 over the evening for local and international charities.

Tickets are also available from County News and Keats.
