A LIBRARY in the New Forest has has undergone a major facelift.
Lyndhurst Library has been modernised and updated with new computers and books, self service technology and a colourful new children’s area.
Hampshire County Council spent £55,000 on the upgrades as part of a wider £700,000 scheme to improve the Community Centre in which the facility is housed.
The library size has now been doubled and opening hours have been increased from 14 to 17 hours a week.
The council’s executive member for culture, communities and recreation, Councillor Margaret Snaith-Tempia, said: “Hampshire County Council is dedicated to modernising its library service and making each library an inviting place to learn, socialise and have fun.”
